Therapy for
overstimulation & Overwhelm
“I’m desperate to turn my mind off.
there’s always a worst-case scenario playing on repeat.”
“I don’t know how to stop doing everything—if I slow down, I’m sure it’ll all collapse.”
“I spend so much time trying to make sure everything is just right. the satisfaction never lasts”
Sound familiar?
I see you.
You’re always a little on edge—your mind almost never stops racing, your body is tense, and you’re usually in a state of overthinking or overdoing. Sometimes you catch yourself replaying conversations, worrying you’ve said the wrong thing. Or, you avoid situations entirely because the thought of judgment feels unbearable. You’re terrified of letting others down, and you’re convinced you’re failing the ones you love most if you dare say the word “no.” The pressure to always perform is suffocating.
Freedom is possible.
Imagine a life where your mind is gentler and quieter, and where you’re not constantly weighed down by self-doubt. You’re increasingly comfortable setting boundaries and asking for what you need with less of a tendency to second-guess yourself. In valued relationships, you’re practicing showing up as you are, without the masks of over-functioning or the endless need to prove yourself. You’re better able to build deeper, more genuine connections with the people you care about. You’re coming to trust yourself. And there’s a growing sense of ease in your body. It’s not always perfect- what is?!- but you’re buoyed by self-compassion, less haunted by the fear of uncertainty or what you cannot control.
Explore
the impact
We’ll explore how overwhelm and overstimulation show up in your life in the present—how it affects your thoughts, emotions, and interactions. Together, we’ll identify the patterns that keep you stuck, while also learning to make space for discomfort and uncertainty without the need to control it.
expose
The roots
We’ll journey to uncover the experiences and beliefs that fuel your behaviour. By appreciating the roots of these patterns, we’ll endeavour to support the parts of you to release the burdens they’ve carried for so long.
embrace
What matters
We’ll focus on what truly matters to you, aligning your life with your core values and desires. This is about integrating your growth so you can move forward with confidence, authenticity, and a deeper sense of connection to your vitality and wisdom.

"[…]the truth is that things don’t really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart again. It’s just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen."
Pema Chödrön

Many people come to therapy unsure of where to begin. This is especially true when there are fears of being misunderstood or saying the “wrong” thing. Often, different parts of us have different perspectives, making it challenging to find one “right” way to sum it up. Please know that I meet you with a non-judgemental stance. I work from both a place of processing what is conscious and spoken, as well as automatic and embodied. You won’t have to have the “right” words. Together we’ll find ways of leaning into the wisdom that’s already within.

Often the part of us asking this is a part that perceives we’re damaged or defective. Right from the start, I’d invite you to consider that your anxious parts aren’t proof of being broken. That said, I get that you want to feel better! And you want to see changes in how you respond to the circumstances of your life. Together we’ll pace the therapy process with the goal that you feel heard and validated session to session, while you also gain the capacity for tolerating the inevitable ups and downs of life over the long-haul.
I can’t guarantee any particular results. We’ll revisit your goals and trajectory throughout the process, and you’ll be in the driver’s seat to determine how long our ride is together.

Therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey. Every therapist and approach is different. Together, we’ll explore what hasn’t worked in the past and endeavour to tailor the process to better meet your needs. I welcome feedback and encourage our relationship to be a space of practicing the art of expressing what might otherwise feel uncomfortable in other relationships. I won’t always get it right! And when I miss something or my words don’t land, the process of repair can be a powerful part of the healing process.
I will never insist that a client work with me when there’s a better fit elsewhere. If we aren’t clicking, I am happy to support you with recommendations for another clinician.

There is a lot of uncertainty in healing. While our sense of stuck-ness leaves us… well… stuck, at least it’s familiar and predictable in many ways, right? Therapy can support changes in patterns of thought, feeling, and behaviour. I’ve heard many clients say they never could have imagined the changes that come about! Yet it happens as a gradual process and unfolding. It’s experiential and therefore difficult to put into words: who you can become is, somehow, a core part of you that simultaneously isn’t new. The process of healing isn’t necessarily about creating a version of you from scratch, but rather about revealing and integrating the essence of who you’ve always been.
